365-day year, axial tilt and distance from sun make for very similar seasons, adjusted for latitude and other geographic conditions.

Year is divided into 4 seasons - Gnatos, Dervos, Marvos and Cintos

The New Year begins at the spring equinox, the summer solstice marks the end of the season of Gnatos and the beginning of Dervos and the fall equinox marks the end of Dervos and the beginning of Marvos. Cintos covers the period between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. The winter solstice is the root of the week-long festival of Renewal and the five days before the spring equinox are Aseritos, celebrated with bonfires, gift-giving and a carnival.

Days are the standard length, divided into 20 watches (10 daylight and 10 night).

Groups of 10 days are called weeks, dates are given as "the fourth week and third day of Gnatos".

Years are dated from the rebuilding of The City following a major invasion and fire 1467 years ago, called "New City". Thus, the equivalent of January 10 would be: "Week one, day nine of Marvos, New City 1467"
